Tri-C East Demonstration

tric2.jpg

Last Friday morning, Joe was at Tri-C Eastern Campus to do an oil portrait demonstration at Kathy Minck’s Oil Portrait class.  This is a great class for those that might want to get some painting experience around a lot of great people.  He went for about 3 hours at this demonstration, and had many “ooooohs” and “aaaaaaahs” from the students.  It was also nice to see a lot of customers that we knew.

Chagrin Falls Demonstration

chagrin2.jpg

Following his visit to Shaw High School, Joe went over to Chagrin Falls High School for another oil portrait demonstration.  This was a quick one, less than an hour, but he had so much done in his portrait of Marion in such a short time.  There were several very inquisitive students who asked questions on a wide variety of topics, and it even sounded like one or two might have art/design in their future.  It was also great to walk around the rooms and see all the wonderful work they had done so far this year.

Shaw High School Demonstration

shaw1.jpg

After Joe G’s visit to our store last Wednesday night to do an oil portrait demonstration for about 40 people at the store, he woke up early Thursday morning to head over to Shaw High School.  There he did a charcoal demonstration with the students there.  Lots of great fun was had as Marion and I circulated to help out.

Wednesday’s Event

009.JPG 016.JPG

We’ll post more photos over the next few days, but here’s a couple quick shots of Joe G’s painting demonstration from Wednesday night.  It was a great crowd who asked a lot of wonderful questions.

Joe is not off on a whirlwind tour of the Cleveland area, where he’ll be visiting students at Shaw High School, Chagrin Falls High, Tri-C East, and Shaker Heights High.  If your school would be interested in this free art education program, please feel free to give me a call at the store.

Tonight from 7:00-9:00PM

joeg2.JPG

Don’t forget that Joe G. is coming TONIGHT.  The demo is from 7:00-9:00pm.  Chair reservations will be held until 6:45PM, at which time they will be released to everyone else.

Above is a photo from last year’s Joe Demo, and it was a great crowd with incredible questions.  We all learned more than we ever thought we could.

If you didn’t place a chair reservation, don’t fret.  There are still plenty of chairs for people to sit.  Mac’s Backs was generous enough to loan us every chair that they own for tonight.  Though, coming early is best for getting a seat.

Weekly Quote

I passionately hate the idea of being with it, I think an artist has always to be out of step with his time.

Joe’s Here Tomorrow!

joegy.jpg

Don’t forget that Joe G. is visiting this week.  He’ll be doing the in-store, oil portrait demonstration TOMORROW night from 7:00PM-9:00PM.  There is plenty of parking available across the street at the parking structure, have quarters ready.

Seating is limited, and there are many reserved seats.  If you placed a chair reservation, please be sure to claim your seat by 6:45pm or it will be released for someone else.

The first 30 people to the demo will receive goodie bags, and everyone will receive a coupon to use tomorrow night in the store before you leave.

Joe will be more than happy to answer any questions you have about oil painting, acrylic, canvas, linen, techniques, styles, artists, or anything else art related.  Feel free to ask him anything.

Last Week’s Face Painting Demonstration

000_0016.jpg

Last week’s face painting demonstration was great fun for all involved.  We love the Snazaroo product.  It’s so easy to clean off, and gives great examples of faces on its package.  Stop by to see their entire line for your Halloween needs.
