just a word of warning to all area artists who have considered donating your work to WVIZ for their annual auction. They won’t tell you this, but in order for your work to be aired it must have a retail value above $100. I donated two pieces to the auction in May valued at $75 each so consequently they were not aired. Also note that the fine print on the donor form states that all donations become the property of WVIZ which means that they do with them as they please. BE CAREFUL.

    Chuck,
Thanks for the info. We always advise our artists to read everything that they’re signing regarding their work, and ask as many questions as you can before turning your work over to someone, whether for a sale, consignment, or donation.

We do know that many artists have had great promotional experiences through the WVIZ televized auction, and we hope that your experience will help future donors to value their work at a level that will increase their opportunity of being on the air. If people have any questions, I’m sure someone at the auction would be willing to answer questions.
